Nelson, Ralph E.

Nelson, Ralph ERalph E. Nelson, age 74, of the Township of Larrabee, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville, with his family by his side.

Ralph Edward Nelson was born November 1, 1941 in Chicago, the son of the late Edward and Jean Marie (Hillstrom) Nelson. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960 until his discharge at the rank of Sergeant in 1963. Ralph began working as a central office equipment installer, working with Automatic Electric in Eden. He traveled often for work, going out to the west coast for a few years. In 1968, Ralph returned to Wisconsin to work for GTE, Wausau, later merging with Verizon and ultimately Frontier Communications for 53 total years of service. He was united in marriage to Michaelean Grey on April 25, 1970 at the United Methodist Church, Clintonville. Ralph enjoyed planting trees and working in his woods and on his land. He also enjoyed “Jeepin” with the top down along with his wife Mickey. He was also a life member of the NRA as well as a strong conservative. Ralph loved his dogs and cats.

Survivors include: his wife, Michaelean “Mickey”; son, Gregory (Tina) Nelson, Clintonville; grandchildren, Jacob and Samuel Nelson and a brother, Richard (Nancy) Nelson, Fredonia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

No services are to be held at this time as per Ralph’s wishes.
