Weyauwega-Fremont shuts down the Chargers

The strikeout turned out to be an effective way for the Weyauwega-Fremont softball team to shut down Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
Kiley Akey fanned 14 batters April 21 in the Indians’ 10-0 five-inning win over the Chargers.
Akey also held the Chargers hitless and led the Indians at the plate with three hits and a team-high three RBIs.
Jordan Rucks added two hits for the Indians.
W-F scored a run in the second before adding four more in the second and five in the third.
The Indians improved to 9-0 on the season and 5-0 in Central Wisconsin-8 Conference play. W-F will host Pacelli at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28.
