Leonard L. Oakley Sr., age 79, of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016.
Leonard was born on June 20, 1936 in Midlothian, IL, the son of the late Earle K. and Lois (Jebens) Oakley. On September 14, 1956, in Chicago, Leonard was united in marriage to Ruthann Weringa. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2006. He owned and operated Oakley Disposal, Inc. from 1975 until 1989 and is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano.
Leonard is survived by: his children, Rev. Laverne (Ulrichsen) Larson and her husband Ethan, her children, Jennifer (Ehren Fleschner) Ulrichsen and Heather (Aaron Inks) Ulrichsen; Nancy (Wearing) Hammond and her husband Mike, her children, Timothy (Codi) Wearing and April (Carl) Hidde; Leonard L. Oakley Jr, his children, Joshua (fiancée, Ashley Huebner) Oakley and Jeremiah (Monica Lewandowski) Oakley; special son-in-law, John (Cindy) Ulrichsen; step-grandchildren, Heather Larson, Stephanie Larson, and David Larson; and seven great-grandchildren: David Manser, Karyn Wearing, Alex Hidde, Lillian Hidde, Beau Hidde, Ciara Oakley, and Isla Larson. He is further survived by two brothers, Walter Oakley and Keith Oakley; three sisters, Evelyn Olinger, Donna Wrede, and Sulin (Valentino) Baratta. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Ruthann; his parents; and one brother, Marvin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Scott Ludford officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
