Forensics team brings home medals

Manawa students compete at state

Sixteen members of the Little Wolf High School forensics team ended their season with at state competition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Friday, April 15.

Two freshmen members of the team, Thompson Moser and Jemimah Swanson, brought home gold medals for their performances in the prose and poetry categories.

Jody Wentworth, Ethan Michalowski, Isaac Eklund, Jared Zielke and Andrew Scheller earned silver medals. Matthew Wepner, Saharra Lane, Anna Arndt, Allison Bristol, Sieanna Lunde, Alexandria Smiles, Sylvia Much, Brittany Besaw and Alexandria Rae earned bronze medals.

Meghan Hetzel and Brianna Severson were also on the team this year and performed in previous competitions.

The high school forensics season started in January and continued until April. This year competitions were held in Almond-Bancroft, Manawa, Wisconsin Rapids and Madison.

Each participant prepared a speech or performed a six to 10 minute reading of prose, poetry or a combination of pieces. Many participants also performed together in amusing interpretations of group readings.
