Shirley J. Braun, age 80, of Weyauwega, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Crossroads Care Center in Weyauwega.
She was born on June 23, 1935, in the Town of Mukwa, daughter of the late Elmer and Bernice (Mentzel) Schroeder. On May 10, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Braun at King, Wisconsin. Shirley graduated from New London High School in 1953. She volunteered for many years with the scouts, school and church. She also helped her husband Don with his business, Braun Concrete, for many years. She enjoyed gardening and bowling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Terri (Bill Ryan) Braun-Ryan, Tammy Braun (Dale Hellengreen), Tracy Hablewitz; grandchildren: Tom Ryan, Mike Ryan, Jennie Hellengreen, Sam Hablewitz and Jake Hablewitz; siblings: Bill Schroeder, Sharon (Bud) Kadolph, Kathe (Bill) Jonely. She is further survived by an aunt, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Erdmann family, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Wynn (Gene) Koplien.
The funeral service for Shirley will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega with Deacon Lincoln Wood officiating. Burial will be in Ostrander Cemetery, Town of Mukwa. A visitation for Shirley will be held on Wednesday from 4-7p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
