Carol Jean Barden, 68, of Waupaca, passed away on June 2, 2016 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Waupaca.
Carol was born on August 27, 1947, daughter of the late William and Fern (Minton) Rasmussen. Carol loved her grandchildren and great-granddaughter above all else; they were the light of her life. Carol was known for having a big heart and for her willingness to help anyone in need. Carol also had a group of close friends that were like family to her; she found joy in spending time with them, and she greatly enjoyed taking “road trips” with her dear friend Linda.
Carol is survived by: son, Joe (Angel Deal) Barden; brothers, Marlyn Rasumussen and Pete (Nancy) Rasmussen; sister, Katherine (Ed) Flater; sister-in-law, Rosalie (James) Grundy; grandchildren: Miranda, Mariah, Marissa, Nathan, Ryan, and Kearstyn; and great-granddaughter, Kiara. Carol is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband James; son James; sister Mary; and sister-in-law Georgeann.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca with Pastor Jeff Fletcher officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
