Flower shop returns to downtown Iola

By Holly Neumann

Faye Kubisiak, of Iola, is excited to be bringing a flower shop back to the downtown area of Iola.

“It’s great being part of a small town,” she said. “You know everyone.”

Kubisiak, who has operated her business out of her home since 2005, decided it was time to relocate to a store front, when she and her husband Jason put their home up for sale.

“I have weddings booked all summer long and I needed a place to work,” she said. “I could not be worrying about packing up my house and making flower arrangements, so here I am. I think it will be a nice addition to Main Street.”

She brings with her 11 years of experience.

“I did flowers for my sisters’ wedding,” she said. “Then when I got married, I thought I may as well do mine too and it just grew from there.”

Blooming Envy LLC will offer flower arrangements for such events as weddings, funerals, prom and other special occasions.

“I used to use just silk flowers, but now I use real ones as well,” she said. “Silk are easier to do ahead of time and there is not such a time crunch, but there is nothing better than fresh flowers.”

Her main focus will be on weddings.

“I love meeting the people, seeing all the different venues, it’s a lot of fun,” she said. “For my first booking each day, I stay on site to pin on flowers, make last minute changes and to make sure everything looks perfect.”

She laughs as she shares a story of one the weddings she attended.

“I had a flower girl chasing around the ring bearer with her flowers before the wedding,” Kubisiak said. “At the last minute she hit him with her bouquet and her flowers went everywhere. I was able to fix it, after all the show must go on.”

In addition to special occasions, Blooming Envy, LLC will also offer a cash and carry selection and a few gift items.

Hours of operation will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.

Kubisiak can also be reached by calling 715-412-1633 or email [email protected]
