Heiman, Arnold W.

Heiman IIArnold W. Heiman, 88, of rural Marshfield died peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2016 at his home with his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Eric Berns officiating. Burial will take place in Corpus Christi Cemetery, Bakerville and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. The visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and from 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday until service time at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. A parish prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Arnold was born on April 28, 1928 in Marion, Wisconsin to Gust and Laura (Raasch) Heiman. His father passed away and his mother married Rob Heiman who continued to raise the family on their homestead. He graduated from Marion High School and enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1950 until 1952 with an additional three years in the reserves. After basic training he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was united in marriage to Rena Mae Rohan on December 27, 1953 in Bear Creek, Wisconsin. When he returned home from service he became a licensed cheesemaker. That was his lifelong form of employment, his hobby, his life! He worked many years with his wife by his side, then bringing his sons, Ken, Kelvin and Kim into the business. His daughter Kathy went into farming with her husband. His wife Rena Mae passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014.

Arnie is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Joellen) Heiman and their children, Michelle Heiman, Ryan (Amanda) Heiman, and Josh (fiancée Heather Sternweis) Heiman; Kelvin (Marilyn) Heiman and their children, Kelvin (Katie) Heiman Jr., Adam (Ashley) Heiman, Makayla (Kyle) Kozik and Andrew (Brittney) Heiman; Kim (Cheryl) Heiman and their children, Mariah Heiman and Trevor (friend Hannah Wojcik) Heiman; his daughter, Kathleen (Mark) Binder and their children, Karen (Jeff) Perrine, Chris (Kathy) Binder, Jessica (Glen) Thomas (of Willard), Bob (Laura) Binder, Joe (Jill) Binder, Becky (Steven) Bauer, Brenda (Kirk) Hansen, Bonnie (Josh) Sabo, Jennifer (Larry) Throckmorton (of Tulsa, Oklahoma), and Patrick (friend April Franz) Binder. He is also survived by his loveable great-grandchildren (all 30 of them) who always brought smiles to his face, and his four legged companion, Suzie. He is further survived by his sister, Hazel Stevenson and sisters-in-law, Pearl Heiman and Nelda Heiman of Clintonville and brother-in-law, Kenneth (Ruth) Rohan and sister-in-law, Jayne Rohan of New London. Arnie was predeceased by a sister, Margaret in infancy, a sister, Gertrude (Ben) Arndt, brothers, Al, Chet (Eunice), Art (Lillian), Ernie (Alice), and Kenneth and brother-in-law, Bernard Stevenson. Also by his in-laws, Merlyn (Minnie) Rohan, Jean (Harold) Dieck, Norbert (Evelyn) Rohan, Pat (Genny) Rohan, Evelyn (Mark) Lowney and Roger Rohan.

The Heiman family wishes to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice for their compassion and care.

They will designate a memorial in Arnold’s name at a later date.
