Dixie C. Klegin, age 77 of Manawa, died unexpectedly on Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2016, at Theda Care Hospital, New London, following a short illness.
Dixie was born on January 22, 1939, in the Town of Maple Creek, the daughter of Anthony and Esther (Timmerick) Knapp. On April 25, 1959, she married Louie Klegin at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bear Creek. Louie preceded Dixie in death in October of 2010. Dixie had the greatest love for Arabian Horses. Those closest to Dixie knew she was very particular about her horses. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Letty. Dixie also loved the hobby farm she worked with her husband along the Little Wolf River.
Dixie is survived by her children: Jeanne (Mike) Rohloff; Rick (Amy) Klegin; Julie (Kevin) Buchman; Mary (Larry) Thoma; Louie Jr. (Joanna) Klegin; Kelli Bunnell; Dawn (David) Dobratz; Lana (Tim) Mellin; 14 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild. She is further survived by brothers: Alan (Joanna) Knapp and David (Joyce) Knapp; special friend, Tim Fahsar; other brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dixie is preceded in death by her parents; husband Louie; and daughter, Lori.
Family and friends are invited to visit and celebrate Dixie’s life at Cline-Hanson- Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, from noon until 3 p.m.
