Woldt, Joyce cropJoyce Ann Woldt, 86, of Waupaca, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at ThedaCare Medical Center – Waupaca.

Joyce was born on January 20, 1930, daughter of the late Claude and Edris (Worby) Dexter. On October 16, 1983, Joyce was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gilbert Woldt. Joyce was a proud member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Joyce was a retired social worker, having spent many years working for the Department of Aging in Appleton. Joyce was also a retired librarian and a member of the Wisconsin Library Association. She was a member of the Friends of the Library of Waupaca, a board member of the Waupaca Historical Society, and a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. She also loved cooking, gardening, reading, genealogy, singing in the choir, dancing, spending time at the lake, and spending time with family and friends.

Joyce is survived by: daughters, Terry (Jayne Goodwin) Simpson and Leah (Paul) Reesman; sons, Roger (Jo Ann) Gorges, Rick Gorges, Philip (LaVaun) Gorges, Duane Gorges, and Paul Gorges; step-son Gary (Sue) Woldt; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Syens; and brothers, John Dexter and Ron Dexter. Joyce is further survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband Gilbert; grandchildren, Kimberly and Sean Gorges, and brother, Lee Dexter. Joyce is further preceded in death by Victor Gorges and many Gorges in-laws.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, with Fr. Nigel Bousfield officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family at the Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., and again on Thursday at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Joyce’s name. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
