Traffic
• July 31 – A motorcyclist was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:30 a.m. in the town of Iola.

Gerald Welch, 72, of Fox Lake, was driving southbound on State Highway 49 near Tresness Road when he either lost control or had to maneuver around an animal to avoid a collision.

The motorcycle crossed into the east ditch and struck a large rock, causing the operator and the vehicle to go airborne. According to the damage, the police said the vehicle appeared to have rolled at least once.

• July 31 – A woman and three children were injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 2:30 p.m. in the town of Farmington.

Traci Gennerman, 41, of Waupaca, failed to stop at a stop sign on County Trunk Q at U.S. Highway 10. She crashed into a vehicle driven by Terri Brown, 49, of Tomahawk.

Brown and three minors in her vehicle were taken to the hospital for possible injuries.

According to the police report, Gennerman was issued a citation.

• July 30 – Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 3 a.m. in the town of Farmington.

Ernesto Newton, 20, of Waupaca, was driving southbound on County Trunk K near Janl Drive when his vehicle left the roadway, spun and struck several trees.

Newton and his passenger, Alysha Basina, 20, of Waupaca, both suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

According to the police report, Newton said he was forced off the road. Upon investigation, there was no indication of a second vehicle, which was later confirmed by Basina.

The police reported Newton admitted to drinking four beers prior to the accident.
