Arlan Clarence Knutson, age 91, of Janesville, died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital, Madison.
He was born in Iola, WI on March 4, 1925, the son of Clarence and Thelma (Nelson) Knutson. He served in the U.S. Army and married Idamae Prell in Stevens Point on Aug. 5, 1949. Arlan was a member of the Optimist Club and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He retired from First Lutheran Church after 29 years as the business administrator.
He is survived by his wife, Idamae Knutson; three children: Kathy (James) Geary, Eric Knutson and Signe (William Winans) Knutson; three grandchildren: Marte Pohlmann, Benjamin Geary and Emily Geary; and brother, Bob Knutson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, in the Chapel at Cedar Crest with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Chapel at Cedar Crest. Interment will be in Our Savior Lutheran Cemetery in Iola, WI. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to ECHO or Janesville Rotary Gardens. Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
