Comets knock off Tigers

Boldt scores twice for Waupaca

By Greg Seubert

Seth Boldt’s two goals helped the Waupaca boys’ soccer team pick up a 3-1 North Eastern Conference win on the road.

David Joslin-Pleshek gave Wrightstown seven minutes into the game gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead Sept. 8, but the Comets responded with three goals before halftime.

Boldt tied the game in the 10-minute mark off of an assist from Keenin Polebitski. Jack Snider’s unassisted goal gave Waupaca the lead for good 31 minutes into the game and Boldt found the net with 10 seconds to go in the half for the game’s final score.

Waupaca, which also handed Mosinee a 4-0 nonconference loss Sept. 6, improved to 2-0 in conference play and will host Pacelli and Seymour Tuesday, Sept. 13, and Thursday, Sept. 15, at Waupaca High School. Both games are slated to start at 6:30 p.m.
