The NFL’s Punt, Pass and Kick Competition is returning to Waupaca.

The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Swan Park in Waupaca.

The competition has not been held in Waupaca for several years. Aaron Jenson won the event the last time it was held. He is now director of the Waupaca Parks & Recreation Department, which is hosting the event with the Waupaca Lions Club.

Competitors are urged to arrive early in order to warm up for the competition, which is open to boys and girls ages 6-15.

“Each kid will punt, pass and kick the football,” Waupaca Lions Club president Chris Johnson said. “Total yardage for all three events will be added together to get a total score for that child. First-place winners in each age group and gender may go on to the team championship event depending on results from other sectional competitions.”

Interested families can register at NFLPPK.com and typing in “54981” in the ZIP code box. Participants can also registration at the Waupaca Parks & Recreation Department office at 407 School St.

Proof of age will be required to compete in the team championship.

The Waupaca Lions Club will operate the park’s concession stand during the competition.
