Meshnick, Raymond L.

r-meschnik-handRaymond L. Meshnick, age 79 of New London, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London  surrounded by his loving family following a long battle with Mesothelioma.

Ray was born on February 16, 1937 in New London, Wisconsin, son of Louis and Lillian (Niehoff) Meshnick. On July 1, 1967, Ray married Carol Everts at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Ray took correspondence course work from Chicago Technical College for Building Construction. He worked for both Joski in Green Bay and Globe Contractors in New Berlin. Ray was a master woodworker and perfectionist. He won many blue ribbons for his fancy wood vases and boxes, but was most proud of building the house that he and Carol resided in. Ray loved camping, traveling, and fishing. His favorite fishing spot was Lake Tomahawk in northern Wisconsin. He also never missed the opportunity to watch his grandchildren play ball. He loved watching the Brewers and Packers.

Ray is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol; two sons, Steve (Dee Dee) Meshnick and Scott (Denise) Meshnick both of New London; grandchildren, Sam, Paige, Hannah, and Renee; brothers, Peter Meshnick, Neenah and Mark (Kathy) Meshnick, Neilsville; and sisters, Mary (Rich) Davis, Los Angeles, CA and Ann Bonikowske, Manawa. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jim, Chuck, David, and Norbert; and one sister, Helen.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London, with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit directly at church Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
