Boldt, Jorgensen score all five goals

By Greg Seubert

Waupaca’s boys’ soccer team has relied on the scoring of Seth Boldt and Luis Jorgensen this season.

The senior duo came up with all five of the Comets’ goals Oct. 27 in a 5-1 win over Mosinee in a WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinal at Waupaca High School.

The Comets are now one win away from the team’s first-ever trip to state and will head to Rice Lake Saturday, Oct. 29, for a 2 p.m. matchup with the Warriors in a sectional final.

The winner of that game will take on Mount Horeb or McFarland at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in a state semifinal in Milwaukee.

Jorgensen scored the Comets’ first two goals and Boldt’s first goal with 2:54 remaining in the first half gave Waupaca a 3-0 lead at the break.

Each player also scored in the first 6:26 of the second half and Mosinee scored with less than three minutes remaining in the game.
