Buschke, Ethel

ethel-buschkeEthel Buschke, age 95, of Manawa, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 5, 2016.

She was born on December 8, 1920 in the Town of Union, daughter of the late Herman and Bertha (Gruel ) Lange. On June 12, 1943, she was united in marriage to Earl Buschke at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco. He preceded her in death in 1980. Ethel taught at Maple Valley School (Dupont) for two years, and once married, she moved to the Town of Union to farm with Otto and Ruth Buschke. In 1948, Ethel and Earl moved to the Town of Little Wolf to their own farm and raised their family. Ethel enjoyed listening to the Milwaukee Brewers, playing cards and fishing. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and their Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her children: James (Jeanne) Buschke, Manawa; Dennis (Ginny) Buschke, Appleton; Judy (Dan) Knaack, Marion; grandchildren: Gregg Buschke and special friend Laura, Jeff (Denise) Buschke, Jim (Laura) Buschke, Jill (Greg) Schuelke, Amy (Terry) Dean, JoAnn (Brian) Schuelke, all of Manawa; Michelle (Brian) Wautlet, Brian (Jodi) Buschke; Appleton; Stacy Bailey, Daniel (Tara) Knaack, Nathan (Kayla) Knaack, Marion; 32 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Mary (Buschke) Proctor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred (Fern) Lange; sisters and brothers-in-law: Eleonora and Phillip Hanson, Violet and Harvey Schoen, Lode and Elmer Kussman, and Norbert Buschke.

The funeral service for Ethel will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. John Hielsberg officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Symco. A visitation for Ethel will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for Zion Lutheran Church. The Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa is serving the family.
