End is here for Sweet Lips comedy troupe

This time they say they really mean it

It has been announced before – first in 2008, and then once or twice a year since – that Central Wisconsin’s resident comedy troupe Sweet Lips might be calling it quits.

This time they really mean it.

After 28 years, they called their first last show, “The Last Dance and the Whole Shebang,” and said that was their retirement run. Since then, “reunion” shows have rolled out on a regular basis.

Their newest last show, “It’s the End of the World as We Know It, Really!” might be seen as a commentary on the state of our country post-election, or not. As usual, they haven’t written it yet.

One thing is for certain, the last time opportunity to see them will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at the Ale House in Waupaca and at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Bootlegger’s Bar in Amherst Junction.

Tickets are $15. For reservations, call the Ale House at 715-942-2424 or Bootlegger’s Bar at 715-824-2929.
