Christmas parade in Iola

The 19th annual Christmas Parade in the village of Iola is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

The parade begins at the Iola-Scandinavia High School, passes Iola Living Assistance and shops on Main Street, ending at the Iola Historical Society.

A visit with Santa and entertainment by a musician/storyteller for all children will follow the parade at the Iola Historical Society machine shed building.

Additionally this year will be Jessica Michna, of Historical First Impressionsm presenting a program entitled “Mrs. Charles Dickens” in the machine shed at 11:30 a.m. This program is sponsored by the Iola Historical Society.

Refreshments will be served by the Iola Lioness Club.

Participating in the parade provides an opportunity for individuals, businesses and organizations to promote themselves and show community spirit. Any person or organization that would like to sponsor a float or march in this year’s parade may contact Jeannine Harbridge at 715-445-5450.

The Iola Lioness Club sponsors the parade, with the support of the Iola Village Library, the Iola Lions Club and the I-S Chamber of Commerce.
