Forsberg, C. David

C. David Forsberg, age 70, of Waupaca, WI passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his residence.

Dave was born in Rochester, New York on April 4, 1946, the son of the late Charles and Genevieve (Donaldson) Forsberg. Dave was a highly decorated 3-sport athlete at Clarkstown High School in New York and was inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame. While attending UW-Madison on a football scholarship (following in the footsteps of his father & grandfather) he met Laura Seton. They were married on September 13, 1969 in Dodgeville, WI. Dave was a sociology major, and also served a few years in VISTA and spent his entire career as a social worker, the majority in child protective services. He is an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving for many years on the church council and recently on the personal committee as chairman. In retirement, Dave loved traveling, especially to visit his family, watching his beloved Packers and playing golf.

Dave is survived by his children: Jennifer (Bill Pendleton) Forsberg, Palmer, Alaska and James (Adriane Fang) Forsberg, Silver Spring, Maryland; his grandchildren: Laura Rui Forsberg, Christi, Jan & Bobbye Pendleton; his siblings: Dean Forsberg, Waupaca, WI; Dale (Nancy) Forsberg, Congers, NY; Darrel Forsberg, Bowie, TX; Lynn Forsberg, Royersford, PA and Lahna Bland-Forsberg, Spruce Pine, NC and his very special friend: Sandy Akey, Waupaca, WI. Dave is also survived by many other loving family members and friends around the country. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Laura.

The Memorial Service will be on Monday, December 19 at 3 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waupaca with Reverend Andy Behrendt, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville, WI next to his wife, Laura. Visitation will be held on Monday afternoon from 1 PM to 3 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are great appreciated to a project Dave was very involved with, the Trinity Building Fund. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
