Gifts, food given to 51 families
This year’s Weyauwega-Fremont Christmas Giving Tree provided gifts and food for 51 area families.
The distribution took place on Saturday, Dec. 17, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, in Weyauwega.
The ecumenical project involved First Presbyterian Church, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Knight of Columbus Council 13702 organized it.
Families received clothing, toys and non-perishable food items.
They also received potatoes, circular cut ham slices and food vouchers.
The major donors included Helbach Farms, Del Monte Foods, Sturm Foods, Tyson, Weyauwega-Fremont FFA and W-F High School, Presto Products, Marvin Metals, St. Vincent de Paul, Agropur and First National Bank.
Last year, 61 area famileis received gifts and food.
The program serves families in the W-F School District.
