Indians fall at home

Foxes pull away at the end

Omro led from start to finish and handed the Weyauwega-Fremont girls’ basketball team a 57-45 loss Dec. 23.

The Indians had no answer for Omro’s Ashley Buccholz, who scored the Foxes’ first seven points and went on to lead all scorers with 28.

Omro led 30-23 at halftime, but outscored the Indians 27-22 in the second half.

W-F was able to cut the lead to 37-33 on a Hailey Krause three-point play, but never got any closer. The Foxes closed out the game with an 8-1 run after the Indians trailed 49-44 with less than two minutes remaining.

Krause led the Indians with 17 points, while Kiley Akey added 12 and Daisy Wilson chipped in with nine.

The Indians will travel to Wild Rose Thursday, Dec. 29, for a 6 p.m. matchup with the Wildcats before heading to Rosholt Thursday, Jan. 5.
