Elnor D. Behm, age 80, of Fremont, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, December 29, 2016.

He was born on November 24, 1936 in the Town of Saxeville, WI, the son of the late John and Norma (Robbert) Behm. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield, and also graduated from Christ Lutheran School. He then graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1955. On February 27, 1960, Elnor married Doris Zeinert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah, and together they celebrated 56 special years together. Elnor was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served on the School Board and Board of Elders. God, faith and his church were so very important to him. He worked as a truck driver for Wagners Cheese and Gelhar Sand, and also farmed in the Town of Bloomfield for several years. Elnor owned and operated Behm’s Last Resort in Bloomfield, as well as the Brew Haus in Weyauwega with Doris and his family for many years. Until this complete retirement, he drove school bus for Weyauwega-Fremont.

Elnor is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Julie Behm (JR Werch), Berlin, and Barbara (Jerry) Riggle, Waupaca; two granddaughters, Raleigh and Erin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon Zeinert, Hortonville; Raymond (Sally) Zeinert, Larsen; Lee and Glen Zeinert; Lois Whitcomb, Larsen; Herb Zeinert, Larsen; and Bonnie Zeinert, Larsen; a special cousin and friend, LaVern Robbert, Bloomfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry; his parents; a brother, Arlyn; a sister, Delores (Franklin) Albrecht; his mother and father-in-law, Erwin and Nora Zeinert; his stepfather, Bill McKinley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin (June) Zeinert, Leonard (Phyllis) Zeinert, Carrie Zeinert, Carol Zeinert, Art Eiden, and Bob Whitcomb.

The family wishes to thank the Waushara Co. Sherriff’s Dept., EMT’s and 911 Dispatch for their help and kindness. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, N6412 State Rd. 49, Weyauwega. Rev. John Taggatz officiated. Burial is in Concordia Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for Christian Life Center at Christ Lutheran School.

We thank the Lord for the gift of this extraordinary man who showered us with his love and care, and who we are blessed to call husband, dad and Bump Bump. We praise the Lord for taking him to heaven to be with Terry in the way he wanted to go. You are always in our hearts until we join you in heaven.
