Stitchman, Dorothy M.

Dorothy May Stitchman, age 95, New London passed away peacefully at Bethany Home, Waupaca on Thursday, January 5, 2017.

Dorothy was born on June 29, 1921, daughter to the late Walter and Elvira (Krueger) Stitchman. She lived on the family farm for 39 years while working at Flanagan Bros Sauerkraut Factory. Dorothy moved to the city in 1960 and worked in homes for the elderly for many years. She was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Dorothy was a kind woman with a large heart who was selfless and giving. Her faith brought her comfort and she looked forward to visits from her Pastors, especially when she was physically unable to get to church services, although she listened to them on the radio.

She is survived by her close friends: Mark and Amy Maass, their children’s families: John Heger, Andrea Sugden and their son Logan; Marissa and Ronald Quella; and the multiple neighbors and friends who were truly like family to her. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the New Maple Creek Cemetery, Town of Maple Creek.
