Manawa to host wrestling regional

Division 3 meet slated for Feb. 11

Little Wolf High School in Manawa will host a WIAA Division 3 wrestling regional Saturday, Feb. 11.

Here’s a rundown on where area teams are headed for regionals:

Division 1
Kaukauna Regional (10 a.m.): Hortonville, Appleton East, Appleton North, Appleton West, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Menasha.

Sectional qualifiers will advance to the Kaukauna Sectional Saturday, Feb. 18.

Division 2
Antigo Regional (10:30 a.m.): Waupaca, Antigo, Lakeland, Mosinee, Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards, Tomahawk.

Oconto Falls Regional (10 a.m.): Clintonville/Marion, New London, Freedom, Marinette, Oconto Falls, Peshtigo, Seymour.

Omro Regional (10 a.m.): Wautoma/Wild Rose, Berlin, Fox Valley Lutheran, Little Chute, Omro, Winneconne, Xavier.

Sectional qualifiers from all three regionals will advance to the Seymour Sectional Saturday, Feb. 18.

Division 3
Manawa Sectional (10 a.m.): Manawa, Weyauwega-Fremont, Amherst, Almond-Bancroft/Pacelli, Rosholt, Tri-County, Wittenberg-Birnamwood.

Sectional qualifiers will advance to the Bonduel Sectional Saturday, Feb. 18, in Shawano.

Regional champions will advance to team sectionals Tuesday, Feb. 14. The Manawa Regional champion will compete against the champions from the Crivitz, Athens and Coleman regionals.

The WIAA State Individual Tournament will be held Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 23-25, at the Kohl Center in Madison, while the WIAA State Team Tournament is set for Friday and Saturday, March 3-4, at the University of Wisconsin Fieldhouse in Madison.
