The Manawa Wolves girls’ basketball team chalked up a 53-46 victory over the Weyauwega-Fremont Indians, during a Feb. 7 Central Wisconsin-Eight Conference match up.

Haley Reierson sank four 3-point baskets to give the Wolves a 28-21 lead in the first half of the game.

W-F briefly took the lead during the final period, led by Hailey Krause who poured in 10 points. But the Indians could not maintain their momentum and Manawa got the win.

Krause’s 18 points topped the scoring for the Indians, followed by Natalie Schneider and Kiley Akey with 9 each.

Leading the scoring for Manawa was Reierson with 17, followed by Laynie Bessette with 13.

Manawa will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Manawa Elementary School when they host the Bonduel Bears. While Weyauwega-Fremont will travel to Amherst to take on the Falcons.
