2017 winners announced

The following area artists won awards in the Wolf River Art League’s 47th Annual Mid-Winter Art Show held at the New London High School on Saturday, Feb. 11, and Sunday, Feb. 12.

Professional 2-D
First place — Michael O’Connell, “The Andean Condor.” Second place —Sherri Thomas, “Protector of the Realm.” Third place — Sherri Thomas, “Willow Springs.” Honorable mention — Gregory Frederic, “Noteworthy;” Kimberly VanDenBerg, “Tamworth.”

Professional Photography
First place — Judy Johnson, “A Midwinter Night.” Second place — Judy Johnson, “Love is in the Air.” Third place — Roxie Rowe, “Tree Frog Smile.” Honorable mention — Diane Urban, “Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse;” Linda Alfuth, “Pick a Number.”

Professional 3-D
First place — Ruth Rex, “Gothic Nature Entwined.” Second place — Diane Urban, “Japanese Temari.” Third place — Don Nelson, “Hollow Geometric Solids.”
