John E. Peura, age 70, of Fremont, died on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Fremont.
He was born on September 22, 1946 in Waukegan, IL, the son of the late Conrad and Vienna(Palmi) Peura. John served his country in the US Navy. He and his wife, Linda owned and operated Hotel Fremont from 1998-2003.
John is survived by his wife, Linda; a son, Jim (Charlotte) Peura, Beach Park, IL; a daughter, Jennifer (Rick) Goodfriend, Lake Geneva, WI; three grandchildren, Cody Hiney, Jacob and Julianna Peura; two stepchildren, Connie Perrino, CO, and Jason Sizelove, OH; four step-grandchildren, Jacob, Dillon, Sylvia and Dominic; a sister, Judy Shales-Reinier, Weyauwega; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service with full military rites, will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont. Visitation will be held on March 11, at the funeral home, from 11 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
