Two women face attempted homicide charges

The woman acquitted of homicide by a jury on Jan. 23 is now accused of planning to kill the family who gave her a home after the trial.

Alison C. Roe, 45, Waupaca, was arrested Thursday, March 2, and charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide as party to a crime.

Another woman, Darlene Norkett, 32, is charged with solicitation of first-degree homicide and attempted first-degree homicide.

Also known as Darlene Oxford, an arrest warrant has been issued for Norkett’s arrest.

According to investigators, Roe had been living with a woman, identified as TYN in the criminal complaint, and her daughters since shortly after her trial.

TYN expected Roe to abide by strict rules while living in her home. She gave Roe a cellphone and told her to keep it on at all times.

Roe was also told she could not drink or take drugs, bring alcohol or drugs into the house, or hang out with people who drink and do drugs.

On a recent Saturday night, Roe turned off her phone and went to a friend’s house, where she allegedly snorted meth.

TYN and her daughter went to the house and confronted Roe about using drugs.

As they were leaving, Roe followed them out to their car and pounded on the door. She then allegedly tried to climb into the vehicle through an open window.

TYN and her daughter drove away without Roe.

The following morning, Roe went to TYN’s house and promised she would stay clean and not mess up again, the complaint says. TYN and her daughter agreed to give Roe a second chance.

On Thursday, March 2, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputies Curtis Much and Chad Repinski were clearing an accident on County Trunk K, in Farmington, when TYN pulled up in a car.

TYN was visibly distraught and said Roe was staying at her home on East Road and she feared for her children’s lives.

TYN reported her daughter read a Facebook chat where Roe and Norkett discussed killing TYN. She asked the deputies if they would follow her home.

When the deputies arrived, they questioned Roe about the alleged Facebook threats.

Roe reportedly said she and Norkett had made comments about killing TYN and she had also replied, “lol,” or laughing out loud, indicating the comments were not meant seriously.

The daughter, who said she read the messages, was so alarmed she collected all the knives and scissors in the house and hid them in the freezer.

Most of the relevant messages had been deleted.

Investigators were able to recover a portion of the Facebook chat that involved Roe telling Norkett she was going to sue the county for $10 million and get at least $1 million.

They chatted about how Roe would spend the money. Roe reportedly texted that she had “better things to do like figuring out how to get back at (TYN) and (her daughter).”

“N we can hire someone to kill (TYN),” Norkett allegedly texted.

When the deputies arrested Roe, she reportedly questioned why they were arresting her rather than the “meth heads running around.”

“She had also made the comments that she knows a bunch of meth heads in Waupaca and could give us their names,” Much reported.

As of Tuesday morning, Roe remained in custody on a $2,500 cash bail. She is scheduled for an initial court appearance Tuesday afternoon.

Norkett is married to TYN’s former husband and court records indicate she has recently been living in Olympia, Washington.

On Oct. 20 2015, Norkett was convicted in Waupaca County of obstructing an officer and sentenced to 80 days in jail. That same day, her probation on two counts of illegal possession of prescription drugs was revoked and she was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

Norkett also faces charges of worthless checks in Clark County and theft in Marathon County.
