Playground for Franklin Park

Volunteers needed to install equipment

The New London Parks and Recreation Department will hold a community build for a new, ADA-accessible playground at Franklin Park in New London.

Build dates are Friday, June 16 and Saturday, July 17. Hours will be from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. until completed on Saturday.

Along with other community members, Raise Up New London is coordinating the volunteer forces for the build and looks for participants to sign up for the event.

Volunteers do not need experience or tools. They must be 16 or older unless accompanied by an adult. Anyone under 18 will require a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Volunteers will be provided lunch and water.

Anyone interested in helping for all or part of the build can sign up by contacting the New London Parks and Recreation Department at 920-982-8521.

The project will be the third community build to take place in town during the last three years. Hatten Park and Pfeifer Park have also received accessible playgrounds.
