Extended hours

Lodewegen

The Waupaca County clerk’s office will offer extended hours until 6 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Aug. 1.

The service has been approved for a six-month trial period.

“Our office is committed to serving the residents of Waupaca County,” County Clerk Jill Lodewegen said. “By extending our counter hours, we hope to provide a more convenient time for customers that want to apply for passports or a marriage license.”

Lodewegen noted that people seeking documents should know what they need to bring with them before coming to the courthouse.

“The best way to know what you need is to go to the Waupaca County website (www.co.waupaca.wi.us) and click on County Clerk under the department tab. There is a link for both marriage licenses and passports that detail out what you will need to bring in with you,” Lodewegen said. “Or call our office at 715-258-6203 and we would be happy to review what is required with you.”

Estimated time to complete either application process is 15-20 minutes.

Starting the week of July 31, the county clerk’s office is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, excluding holidays.

The county clerk’s office serves as manager and administrator for county records, chief elections official for all municipalities, oversees elections, and performs other duties as directed by state statues and as assigned by the Waupaca County Board.

The county clerk’s office issues marriage licenses, domestic partnerships and is currently the only passport issuing agent in Waupaca County.

The extended hours are for the county clerk’s office only. Courthouse hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

Some departments offer additional hours that are listed on their website page.
