Trailer loaded with garbage

By Erik Buchinger

An 18-foot trailer caught on fire on County Trunk O in the town of Larrabee on Monday, July 24.

The trailer was loaded with garbage and other construction debris, which caught on fire, according to Clintonville Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Todd Prellwitz.

The structure fire occurred around 2:15 p.m., and some workers from Friendship Valley Dairy Farm were using garden hoses and buckets to put out the fire before the fire department arrived.

“At this time, we cannot rule out careless use of smoking materials,” Prellwitz said.

The Clintonville Fire Department was on scene for nearly three hours.

There were no injuries.
