Inderdahl, Howard Kenneth Sr.

Howard Kenneth Inderdahl Sr., age 89 passed away on September 12, 2017 at home with his wife at his side.

Howard was born on December 3, 1927 in the town of Helvetia to the late Carl and Hilda (Kristianson-Olson) Inderdahl. He married Dorothy Christensen on April 18, 1952 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. He served in the U.S. Army during the Japanese Occupation and the Korean War, where he received the Bronze Star for Valor. After his military obligation he was hired by Western Electric doing equipment installation. He retired in 1981 and enjoyed various activities over the years, but in the last few weeks his great-grandchildren brought the biggest smiles to his face.

Survived by his wife Dorothy, his children: Dennis (Donna), Onalaska, WI; Debbie, Scandinavia, WI; Darlene (Mike) Donker, Oshkosh, WI; Douglas (Lori), Rosendale, WI, and Howie (Petra), Scandinavia; 11 grandchildren: Joel, Angie (Damian), Sina, Nick, Jenn, Krista, Allie, Laura, Chelsea, Torie, and Logan; five great-grandchildren: Zaliana, Malia, Elyn, Kaverick, and Huxley. Also survived by in-laws: Sylvia, Rowena, and Christine Inderdahl, Betty Kropilnicki, Bob (Clarice) Christensen, Don (Janice) Christensen, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Ethel (Billy) Hill; brothers, Selmer (Edyth, Alta), Curt (Maxine), Chet, and Orville; nephews: Corky Inderdahl, Billy Inderdahl, David Inderdahl and Roger Inderdahl; father and mother-in-law, Oswald and Jennie Christensen and brother-in-law, Frank Kropilnicki.

Visitation will be held at Voie Funeral, Iola, WI, on Friday September 15, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., and one hour before the service. The Service will be held at Scandinavia Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. David Eisele officiating. Burial will follow in the Scandinavia Cemetery.

The Family would like to thank Dr. Happ and the Theda-Care Hospice team for the care and compassion they gave Howard.
