Crash in New London

Three people were injured in a head-on collision at 6:11 p.m. Thursday.

A 40-year-old Michigan man was travelling southbound on U.S. Highway 45, south of State Highway 54, when he attempted to pass another vehicle.

He then crashed into an oncoming northbound vehicle, according to a press release from New London Police Chief Jeffrey Schlueter.

The Michigan driver was transported by ambulance to ThedaCare Regoinal Medical Center in Neenah for serious non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was a 61-year-old Marion woman who was airlifted to ThedaCare in Neenah with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries.

The passenger, a 62-year-old Marion man, was transported by ambulance to ThedaCare in New London with minor injuries.

A portion of U.S. 45 was closed for four hours.

Names of the victims have not been released yet.
