WHS 2017 homecoming

Waupaca to celebrate homecoming Oct. 8-13

This year’s homecoming court is made up of Chloe Abrahamson and Zack Thuerman; Jocybeth Barraza and Luis Barraza; Mya Berzsenyi and Nick Gotto; Emma Pagel and Jacob Pankratz; Mya Snyder and Spencer Grams; Isabella Udoni and Sam Abrahamson; and Rainy Von Gunten and Mark Kilcoyne.

They will be among those participating in the 5 p.m. parade through downtown Waupaca on Friday, Oct. 13.

The varsity football team will take on the Xavier Hawks at 7 p.m., at the high school.

The homecoming dance will be held from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, in the high school commons, with the grand march at 10:30 p.m.

This year’s homecomming theme is “The year the Hawks become extinct.“

The homecoming week activities will kick off Sunday, Oct. 8 with Powder Puff Football at noon on the high school practice field and boys volleyball at 1:30 p.m., in the high school gym.

Monday, Oct. 9 will be “Pajama Day,” with Junior varsity 1 football versus West De Pere at 5 p.m. and coronation at 7:30 p.m.. in the high school’s Performing Arts Center.

Tuesday, Oct. 10 will be “Sports Day,” with varsity boys soccer at Denmark at 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 11 will be “Color Day.”

The colors will be Comet blue for the staff, black for the seniors, purple for the juniors, red for the sophomores and yellow for the freshmen.

Thursday, Oct. 12 will be “Tie Dye/Camo Day.”

There will be volleyball versus Oconto Falls at 5:30 p.m. and junior Varsity 2 football at Xavier High School at 5 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 13 will be “School Spirit Day.”

Th pep rally will take place at 1:45 p.m., in the high school gym.

Junior varsity 2 soccer will be at 5 p.m. at Wisconsin Rapids.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, the junior varsity 1 soccer conference meet will be at 9 a.m., junior varsity 2 volleyball will be at 9 a.m. at De Pere, junior varsity 1 volleyball will be at 9:30 a.m. at Clintonville and the cross country conference meet will be at noon at Wandering Springs Golf Course.
