Folk leads Indians with 12

By Greg Seubert

Balanced scoring and a big first-half lead helped Gillett pick up a 66-18 nonconference girls’ basketball win over Weyauwega-Fremont Nov. 20.

The Tigers led 27-1 at one point and held the Indians to two field goals in the first half. W-F didn’t make a basket until Rylee Bartel scored with 1:57 to go in the first half.

The Indians trailed 34-7 at halftime and never got any closer than 25 points in the second half.

Taylor Folk hit a pair of three-pointers for the Indians and shared the scoring lead with Gillett’s Kaitlyn Schaal, as they both scored 12 points. Taylor Yonker and Kalea Britton also finished in double figures for the Tigers with 10 points.

The Indians will head to New London Tuesday, Nov. 28, for a 7:15 p.m. nonconference matchup with the Bulldogs.
