County 4-H holds contests

Pumpkins, watermelons, sunflowers

The Waupaca County 4-H Program recently held its annual Pumpkin, Watermelon and Sunflower Contest.

In the largest pumpkin division, Parker Heise from Sandy Knoll 4-H received first, Kylie Heise from Sandy Knoll received second, BreAnn Giauque from Country Pride 4-H received third, and Melody Taggart from Country Pride received fourth.

In the largest sunflower division, Kylie Heise from Sandy Knoll received first, Parker Heise from Sandy Knoll received second, Melody Taggart from Country Pride received third, and BreAnn Giauque from Country Pride received fourth. Paul Schultz from Country Pride and Serina Taggart from Country Pride also participated.

Paul Schultz from Country Pride received first place in the largest watermelon division, Serina Taggart from Country Pride received second and Melody Taggart from Country Pride received third.

The pumpkin contest was divided into multiple categories.

Younger member decorated pumpkin results were Paul Schultz from Country Pride received first, Serina Taggart from Country Pride received second, Josh Tank from Wolf River Rascals received third, and August Johnson from Dayton Community 4-H received fourth.

The older member decorated pumpkins were Abbey Acker from Wolf River Rascals received first, Melody Taggart from Country Pride received second, Danielle Tank from Wolf River Rascals received third and Kylie Heise from Sandy Knoll and BreAnn Giauque from Country Pride tied for fourth.

Those participating in the carved pumpkin contest included Serina Taggart from Country Pride received first, Melody Taggart from Country Pride received second, BreAnn Giauque from Country Pride received third and Paul Schultz from Country Pride received fourth. Leaders/Parents – Decorated and Carved: first place went to Angelica Johnson from Dayton Community 4-H, second and third places went to Delores Bork and Denise Schultz respectively from Country Pride.

The 4-H Poster Contest participants were Abbey Acker and Alison Acker from Wolf River Rascals, Kylie Heise from Sandy Knoll, Lucas Epstein, Emma Epstein, and Josh Barnett from Country Pride, Tyler Thontlin from Town & Country, Katie Johnson from Dayton Community, Danielle Tank from Wolf River Rascals, BreAnn Giauque and Melody Taggart from County Pride.

Deb Schneider organized the Pumpkin, Watermelon and Sunflower Contest and Karen Acker for coordinating the poster contest.
