Bessette scores 23 for the Wolves

The Manawa Wolves chalked up another win, beating the Marion Mustangs 44-30 in a Central Wisconsin North Conference girls’ basketball game Tuesday in Manawa.
The Wolves had a 21-16 lead in the game at the half, led by Laynie Bessette who scored 16 of her game high 23 points during that period.
Bessette added 7 more points and Kassidee Zander another 5 in the final stanza to secure the win for the Wolves.
Topping the scoring for Manawa was Bessette with 23, Zander with 7 and Sydney Bailey with 4.
Leading the way for Marion was Abby Polzin with 12, followed by Kyla Zillmer with 6 and Morgan Radcliffe with 5.
Manawa improved their record to 3-2. The team will travel to Tigerton on Friday, Dec. 8.
