Brandon Wanty’s 15 points helped the Comets take a 31-17 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Truckers cut a 17-point deficit to nine points in the second half behind three-pointers from Kyle Finger, Jacob Viergutz and Aiden Polzin. The Comets pushed the lead back 46-30 with a 9-2 run, but three more threes from Polzin, Finger and Samuel Wittman kept the Truckers in the game.

Polzin’s two free throws with 59 seconds remaining in the game made it 50-43, but Clintonville never got any closer until Sean Finger’s three just before the buzzer.

Waupaca outrebounded the Truckers 29-16 and also hit eight of nine free throws. The Truckers hit nine threes in the game, including seven in the second half.

Wanty led all scorers with 17 points, while Hunter Marcom added 14 for the Comets and Justin Vaughn also finished in double figures with 10.

Kyle Finger led the Trucker with 12 points and Presley Rosenow finished with 10.
