Meydam, Robert “Bucky” W.

Robert “Bucky” W. Meydam, age 82, of Fremont, was welcomed home on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Neenah.

He was born on November 3, 1935 in Clintonville, the son of the late Herbert and Nona (Moore) Meydam. On September 22, 1962, Bucky married June Blondey at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New London. She preceded him in death on January 31, 2008. Bucky farmed in the Town of Fremont his entire life. Bucky served as an EMT and firefighter for the local community. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fremont, where he served on many boards and committees; he also loved to sing in the choir. Bucky served on the Town of Fremont Board for many years, was a school board member, and was a member of many farming boards. He loved getting “Friday fish fry” every week. Bucky was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was lucky enough to attend the Ice Bowl. He always loved to attend harness horse races with his family and friends. Bucky loved deer hunting and the outdoors. Bucky will eternally be remembered for his gift of sharing stories. He always had something to share with those around him.

Bucky is survived by two sons, Mark (Katrina Larsen), Hudson, WI; and John, Fremont; a daughter, Peggy (Brian) Hartfiel, Appleton; two grandchildren, Jenna (fiancé, Brandon Boyd), and Adam (significant other Lindsey Murry), a sister, Marge Tews, Royalton; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Blondey, New London; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 107 Tustin Rd., Fremont. Pastor Stephen Pope will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established. The Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont assisted the family with arrangements.
