Kip A Nelson, of Kewaskum, formerly of Waupaca and Hartford, Wisconsin passed peacefully into eternal life at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon, on December 14, 2017. He was 60 years old.

Kip is survived by his mother, Fern Y. Nelson of Sarasota, FL; his children, Emily Weisberg (Alex) of the Bronx, NY and Nora Hartzell (Andy) of Wauwatosa, WI; his two grandchildren, Tzofiah and Oriel Weisberg; and his former wife, Kathy Knapp of West Bend, WI. He is also survived by his brothers: Todd, (Sharon) of Waupaca, WI; Dan (Cathy) of Paradise, CA; Tom (Diane) Shingle Springs, CA; sister-in-law, Michele Nelson of New Bern, NC, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father LaVerne Nelson, his brother Paul Nelson, and grandparents.

Kip was born on March 6, 1957 in Waupaca, WI to LaVerne (Wormy) and Fern Nelson. Kip was the fourth boy in a family of five and lived a wonderful childhood with his brothers on the Chain-of-Lakes in Waupaca, WI. He worked many years as a title examiner in Wisconsin and Florida. Kip’s demeanor was quiet, patient, and kind. He was introverted and clever and had an excellent sense of humor. He loved cooking, fishing, and being outdoors. He was a gentle man and a loving father.

A Private Memorial for his family was planned in Waupaca on Monday, December 18th. Anyone wishing to honor Kip’s memory may make contributions to The Exodus House (1421 Fond du Lac Avenue, Kewaskum, WI 53040) or to a charity of one’s choice. The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family. www.phillipfuneralhome.com
