Ann E. Mather, age 91, of Waupaca passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017.
Ann was born on Jan. 30, 1926 in Waupaca, WI to Clair and Ethel (Anderson) Porter. On Dec. 28, 1944, Ann was joined in marriage to Marvin Mather in Waupaca, WI. Together, Ann and Marvin were rural letter carriers on Rt. 1 for 19 years. Ann was also very active in the Boy Scouts group out of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Group. She worked as a dietary aide for Bethany Home and The Wisconsin Veteran Home. Ann was a very loving mother who worked hard and dedicated herself to putting her children through college. Other hobbies of Ann’s included traveling and camping.
Ann is survived by three sons, David (Franca), Warren (Nancy), and Fred Mather; a sister, Linda Hill; a brother, Harry (Judy) Porter; other close relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; and two sisters, Charlotte Stoltenow and Janice McDaniel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andy Behrendt and Chaplain Wayne Schwanke officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at a time to be determined in the spring of 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Hartman Creek State Park.
