Waupaca County sheriff’s report Jan. 15

• Jan. 14 – Resident on the E2100 block of Crystal River Lane, Waupaca, reported that a lot of jewelry was stolen from her home while she was in the hospital.

• Jan. 14 – Caller from the N8600 block of State Highway 49, Iola, reported that a truck and a car had pulled into the back yard of a nearby vacant home.

• Jan. 13 – Outagamie Sheriff’s Office advised Waupaca County law enforcement that a 30-year-old man was in a manic delusional state and believed his wife wanted to kill him. He had been yelling at her while holding a machete. He was last seen in Winnebago County.

• Jan. 13 – Caller from Weyauwega Cenex, Mill Street, Weyauwega, reported that a man came into the office and asked about the mental health hospital. He left, then returned and began pounding on the doors.

• Jan. 13 – Tenant on the 400 block of West Union Street, Waupaca, reported that somebody broke into her storage unit and stole two vacuum cleaners and some laundry baskets.

• Jan. 13 – Kwik Trip, West Fulton Street, Waupaca, reported an intoxicated man was in their restroom, crying.

• Jan. 13 – A man came to the Iola Police Department and said he had been kidnapped in Appleton.

• Jan. 13 – Union Still and Grill, Symco Road, Union, reported a fight involving four people, no weapons.

• Jan. 12 – D&D Amusements, West Fulton Street, Waupaca, reported that an ex-employee was opening machines and taking money.

• Jan. 12 – An officer was called to a meeting of the county’s Public Property Committee at the Waupaca County Courthouse.

• Jan. 12 – Caller from the 600 block of School Street, Waupaca, reported that a homeless man came to their house two nights ago and her husband gave him money to shovel their sidewalk, The man returned the following night, shoveled snow without permission, then asked for money. When he was told he would not be paid, he said he would be back.

• Jan. 12 – Staff at Comfort Suites in Waupaca reported finding a line of white powder on a desk in the room of a guest who had checked out. They asked that police test the powder.

• Jan. 12 – Caller from Kwik Trip, West Fulton Street, Waupaca, reported having caught a shoplifter on their security camera and wanted an officer to look at the video.

• Jan. 12 – Caller from Crystal Cafe, North Main Street, Iola, reported a suspicious man in his 50s or 60s who was acting strange, going in and out of the restaurant. He apparently tried to get into someone’s car, but they drove away.

• Jan. 12 – Resident of Jossie Road, Manawa, reported receiving phone calls, threatening to kill him and his wife.

• Jan. 12 – Caller from 500 block of High Street, Waupaca, reported that someone forced entry into his apartment through a window and stole a 45-inch TV.

• Jan. 12 – Caller from 300 block of West Fulton Street, Waupaca, reported that a man and woman were fighting.

• Jan. 11 – Caller from 400 block of Jefferson Street, Fremont, reported that her father is harassing her by driving past her home. She said he pulled into her driveway, then left.

• Jan. 11 – Kwik Trip, County Trunk QQ, Waupaca, reported the theft of a wet floor sign.

• Jan. 11 – Waupaca caller reported finding a man who had hanged himself.

• Jan. 11 – Caller from N2200 block of Bean City Road, New London, reported that his gold 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer had been stolen.
