New London falls to West De Pere

Bulldogs drop to .500 this season

The New London girls’ basketball team was defeated by West De Pere 60-38 at home on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Kate Christian and Kali Rohan scored team-highs with 11 points. Rohan scored nine in the first half, and all of Christian’s points came before halftime and made all seven free throw attempts.

West De Pere scored the game’s first 19 points before Megan Pankow scored on consecutive possessions to put New London on the board with 11 minutes left in the first half.

Pankow finished with 10 points for New London.

After trailing 19-0, the Bulldogs went on a 14-5 run and cut the lead to 24-14 with eight minutes left until halftime.

New London cut West De Pere’s lead to single digits and went into the locker room trailing 35-26.

The Bulldogs were outscored 25-12 in the second half.

Brehna Evans scored a game-high 16 points for West De Pere.

New London dropped to 7-7 overall with the loss including 3-3 in the Bay Conference for fourth place.

The Bulldogs’ next game will be on the road against Green Bay West on Friday, Jan. 19.
