Viergutz, Sharon R.

Sharon R. Viergutz, age 79 of Clintonville passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton.

Sharon Raye Viergutz was born June 9, 1938 in Clintonville, daughter of the late Alfred and Jeanette (Peiper) Kitzman. She graduated from Clintonville High School in 1956, and was later united in marriage to William Viergutz on September 12, 1959 at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. William and Sharon owned and operated Clintonville Refrigeration for many years. Sharon was a lifelong active member of Christus Lutheran Church, faithfully involved with Bible study and various church committees. She also volunteered for many community organizations, including Goodfellows and Meals-On-Wheels. Sharon also enjoyed playing Bridge and Canasta in card club. Sharon’s love for her family was unparalleled. She and her sidekick, Betty McConley, never missed a chance to support her grandchildren in their many activities. Sharon will always be remembered as a very giving and self-less person, as well as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Sharon is survived by: daughter, Kathy (Mark) DesRochers; daughter in-law, Tammy Viergutz; grandchildren: Eric (Briana) Viergutz, Megan DesRochers, Tyler DesRochers, and Abbey DesRochers; great-grandsons: Tom Viergutz and baby Hunter Viergutz due in April; sisters: Bonnie (Terry) McDermott, Sandra (Terry) Rettler, Nancy (Dennis) Hack, and Debra (Charles) Elliott; brother, Robert (Sharon) Kitzman; brother-in-law, Warren (Darhl) Viergutz; sister-in-law, Louine Malueg; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; and her son, Tom.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Benjamin Hollingsead officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Visitation begins at 9 a.m., Friday and lasts until the time of the service.
