The Men of the Outdoors of Emanuel Lutheran Church is hosting a Fishermen’s Breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 24 in the Emanuel Lutheran School commons.

The public is invited to attend.

Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. The event will include vendor displays, social time and a hot breakfast served at 8:30 a.m. in the school gymnasium and commons.

At 9:30 a.m. professional walleye angler Daryl Christensen will be the featured speaker.

Christensen, known as the “jigmeister” for his favorite fishing technique, is one of the top five walleye professionals in North America. He is the 2003 Frenzy Eastern Pro-Am Champion, 1998 SuperPro Tournament Champion, 19-time national championship qualifier and 1986 WBFA State Champion.

He has more than 40 top-ten finishes in both walleye and bass tournaments and has authored numerous books and articles to help fellow anglers succeed on the water.

Christensen has been a featured speaker in more than 20 states in the U.S. and Canada covering topics and techniques for increasing your catch of walleye, northern pike, bass and musky.

Along with sharing different jigging and other walleye fishing techniques, Christensen will share his message about how he went from being a hopeless sinner to a victorious winner through Jesus Christ.

The Men of the Outdoors group at Emanuel Lutheran Church anticipates this first ever event becoming an annual event.

Seating is limited to the first 250 people who purchase a ticket. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for youth ages 12 and under. Tickets are available at Festival Foods, Piggly Wiggly and Johnny’s Little Shop of Bait.
