Prahl leads I-S scoring

By Holly Neumann

Caden Prahl scored a game high 21 points to lead the T-Birds to a 70-60 win over the Rosholt Hornets Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Rosholt.

“At times we did not put together a complete game,” I-S coach Sam Bertsch said. “And I don’t think we played our best game down the stretch, but we kept our cool. We gave them opportunities by turning the ball over, but we were able to hold on for the win and we will take it.”

Bertsch gave credit to Prahl for his good shooting.

“Caden is a tough one to guard. You leave him open and he is going to torch you,” Bertsch said. “His teammates were finding him and he had a lot of good shots tonight.”

Other T-Birds in double figures were Justin Sivertson and Connor Kurki with 13 each and Charlie Stockwell with 12.

Stockwell also led the team in rebounds, bringing down 7.

Leading the way for Rosholt was Sawyer Fleming with 33, followed by Cade Bowker with 18.

The T-Birds have two games remaining in their regular season. On Feb. 19 they will travel to Winneconne and Feb. 22 they will host the Menominee Indians.

“We want to make sure we finish the regular season on a strong note,” said Bertsch. “We know we are a team that is capable of winning quite a few tournament games, so let’s finish the regular season healthy and play into March.”
