Meth bust in Embarrass

Suspect was with his 2-year-old daughter when he was arrested.

Kody R. Koeller, 22, Clintonville, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond.

On Feb. 26, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Nate Nelson was dispatched to an apartment on North Elm Street in the village of Embarrass to arrest Koeller on an active warrant from Shawano County.

Koeller had unpaid traffic tickets from July and September 2017 for racing on the highway, speeding 40-44 mph in excess of the 55 mph limit, operating while suspended, operating without a valid license and operating without car insurance. He owed more than $1,300 in fines.

While Koeller was making arrangements for the care of his child, Nelson saw a clear plastic bag with a crystalline substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.

According to the criminal complaint, Koeller said the drugs belonged to him and that he had used meth earlier that day.

He faces up to 3 1/2 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted of possession of meth.
