Starks, Diana Gail

Diana Gail Starks, age 75, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on March 26, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Diana was born in Hammond, Indiana on February 15, 1943. Diana was married to Conrad on October 5, 1963 in Milwaukee, WI; they were married 55 years. Inscribed in her wedding band “Smile for me my Diana”. Diana was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed studying God’s word, poetry, scrapbooking, reading, knitting, crocheting, winters in Florida and traveling.

Diana is survived by her loving and devoted husband Conrad Starks (Waupaca, WI); her children: Terri (Matthew) Lick (Waupaca, WI), John Starks (Carpentaria, CA), Steve (Sapphire) Starks (Kansas City, MO), Rebecca (Edwin) Mullet (Waupaca, WI), Kati (KC) McDermith (Scandinavia, WI); grandchildren: Jason (April) Spick (Waupaca, WI), Connie (Dalton) Schroeder (Waupaca, WI), Rebecca (Karl) Schwoegler (Oshkosh, WI), Samantha Lick (Sauk City, WI), Bailey (Brian) Wehrle (Bear Creek, WI), Nicole Mullet (Trayl Wojcik) (Plover, WI), Kimberly Mullet (Waupaca, WI), Shiloh Bent (Sherwood, WI), Trevor Bent (Sherwood, WI), and Mason McDermith (Scandinavia, WI); great-grandchildren: Tatum, Casey and Christian Spick (Waupaca, WI), Noah Spick (Waupaca, WI), Mason and McKinley Schwoegler (Oshkosh, WI); sister, Linda (Tom) Wisniewski,; brother, Bradley (Winnie) Steinagel and dear family friend, Lacy (Tim) Rynders. Diana was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Steinagel.

Thank you, mom, for your example of forgiveness, servitude to the church, love for your grandchildren, smart sense of humor, and unconditional love.

The Memorial Service and Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Holly Funeral Home, 526 S. Main St, Waupaca, WI. LaVern Mullet of The Church of Christ will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a service to follow at the Holly Funeral Home.

The family of Diana Starks wishes to thank Dr. Baeseman and staff of ThedaCare; Sina Sannes and the other ThedaCare Hospice team for the great care and support. Thank you to Culver’s of Waupaca for the awesome frozen custard that mom demanded daily for comfort. A special thank you to the members of The Church or Christ for their endless spiritual and emotional support and food. Thank you to Holly Funeral Home for assisting our family with arrangements.
