Baeseman, Arden Frederick

Arden Frederick Baeseman, 79, Edgar, WI died peacefully in his home surrounded by this family on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.

Arden was born on November 2, 1938 in Edgar, Wisconsin, son of the late Arnold and Elsie (Umnus) Baeseman, the youngest of seven children. Arden married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, the late Joan Wagner on November 12, 1959 at St. John Catholic Church in Edgar. Joan passed away on July 10, 2010. Arden was a graduate of the Edgar High School class of 1956. In his life, Arden served the 37th Division National Guards in Wausau from 1960-1963. During this time he was stationed in Washington at Fort Lewis. When he and his wife returned from Washington, he took over his father’s business, Edgar Implement, Inc., until it closed in 1976. Afterwards, Arden continued to sell farm equipment for Swiderski Equipment in Mosinee. Arden had many hobbies over the years including hunting, camping, and snowmobiling. He also had several hobbies that involved his love of farming including collecting and restoring antique toy tractors, raising beef cattle, and collecting and restoring International Harvester trac-tors. Many of these tractors had been featured and displayed at the annual North Central Antique Steam and Gas Engine Show on the Kurt Umnus farm where Arden’s mother grew up. A source of great pride for Arden was when his prototype 1943 Frame-All A tractor was featured in the National Red Power Show in Madison. An article on his tractor was featured in a book about International Harvester Tractors.

Arden is survived by his seven children including his two daughters, Kim Ninabuck (Scott), Birnamwood; Jody (Steve Schlei), Wausau; five sons, Arden Fredrick, Jr. (Cara) and Richard (Lisa), both of Edgar; Scott, Highland Park, Illinois; Aaron (Sommer), Edgar, and Zachary (Rebecca), Waupaca; 17 grandchildren: Mollie Jo Baeseman (Tyler), Mitchell Baeseman (Cassie), Cody Heidmann (Heidi), Kyla Baeseman, Atticus Ninabuck (Melanie), Stuart Ninabuck (Allie), Alexandria Gajewski (Eric), Eric Wesolowski (Megan), Bradley Hornung (Jody), David Hornung, Mattea Baeseman, Stella Baeseman-Smith, Margaret Baeseman-Smith, Ashlynn Baeseman, Macallen Baeseman, Rainier Baeseman, and Olin Baeseman; and 21 great-grandchildren: Hattie Berg, Ari and Hollis Baeseman, Carlie Stahel, Emmalynn Heidmann, Mallory, Cassius, Alma, Briggs, Gordon, Forrest, and Lyra Ninabuck, Kashton, Klayton, and Lennon Gajewski, Harper, Liam, and Maxwell Wesolowski, Ava, Beauden, and Camden Hornung.
